As a North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) registered Transmission Owner (TO), Generator Owner (GO), and Distribution Provider (DP) you are required to comply with reliability standard PRC-005-6 Protection System, Automatic Reclosing, and Sudden Pressure Relaying Maintenance. The purpose of PRC-005-6 is to document and implement programs for the maintenance of all Protection Systems, Automatic Reclosing, and Sudden Pressure Relaying affecting the reliability of the Bulk Electric System (BES) so that they are kept in working order.
MinMax has created a connection between the Protection System Maintenance Program (PSMP) procedure for PRC-005-6 and its Asset Management and Inspection program called eSMART 9.1. The eSMART software from MinMax allows its compliance users to quickly set up their PSMP programs by following the guidelines from their enforcing regional entities. eSMART allows PSMP to track Verification, Monitoring, Testing, Inspection, and Calibration. Using the asset management part of the eSMART program, the users can organize the PRC-005 Components and Component Types with eSMART’s Asset IDs and Equipment Types. With eSMART’s Time-based and Performance (Condition)-based inspections, the users can perform numerous time-bound inspections (Requirements) on time while meeting the compliance due dates. The various pieces of evidence required by PRC-005-6 can be comfortably furnished using the document management system of eSMART and its rich portfolio of easy-to-use predefined reports that are easily configurable for audit purposes
