New Web Site Launched, Features Enhanced Content and Functionality

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 2, 2009 – The Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) launched a redesigned Web site today, featuring improvements in content and functionality. The site address is www.fmpa.com.

The site continues to feature FMPA’s latest news, financial reports, information about FMPA and meeting notices. Highlights of the site improvements include:

Enhanced Navigation Improves User Experience
The site features enhancements to help visitors navigate the site. For example, the home page features an expanded “What’s New” section with links to the site’s latest postings. Also, each page of the site features a “Quick Link” section on the left-hand side that suggests additional relevant information that visitors may find of interest on the site.

New Meeting Calendar Provides Multiple Viewing Options
An interactive meeting calendar was installed to provide visitors with multiple viewing options. The FMPA Meeting Calendar may be viewed as a calendar or list, and it can be sorted by day, week and month. Visitors can also search the calendar for upcoming events. Meeting agendas will be attached to FMPA meeting listings for additional convenience. FMPA will no longer distribute a monthly calendar in PDF format.

News Feeds Available
Visitors can sign up to be notified when various types of content are updated. Users can subscribe to updates for news releases, request for proposals, newsletters and annual reports. News feeds are an easy, automated option to receive up-to-date information as soon as it is posted. Prior to subscribing to a news feed, visitors may register with a news aggregator program, also called a feed reader or news reader. Common free aggregator programs include, FeedDemon, Google Reader, Yahoo Reader and Bloglines.

The new site was designed by Merge Inc., an Atlanta-based communications and interactive agency, and programmed by FMPA staff.
