Homestead’s Utilities Director Elected Vice Chairman of Statewide Agency
Quiñones to help lead Board of Directors of wholesale power supplier
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 20, 2014 – Homestead Public Services Director of Electric Utilities Barbara Quiñones was elected Jan. 23, 2014, as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA), a wholesale power supplier to municipal electric utilities.
FMPA’s Board of Directors makes policy decisions for the Orlando-based power supply agency. Each of FMPA’s 31 members appoints one representative to the Board of Directors, and Board officers are elected by popular vote of the members.
This is Quiñones’ first term as Vice Chairman. She has served on FMPA’s Board since 2009.
Quiñones has more than 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry. She also serves as the elected President of the Florida Municipal Electric Association.
