FMPA Wins Two Statewide Awards for Effective Public Relations Programs

The Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) won two Awards of Distinction at the 2022 Florida Public Relations Association Golden Image Awards, an annual competition to recognize outstanding public relations programs in the state of Florida. An Award of Distinction is presented to entries that meet the standards of excellence set by a panel of judges.

In the institutional video category, FMPA was recognized for its collaboration with Aqueous Films and Oxenfree Film & Motion to create the 2021 State of the Agency video, “Together We Can.” The video shared stories of real customers and how FMPA’s 70-60-50 strategic priorities helped member utilities meet customer expectations for affordable, reliable and clean energy. It was shown at FMPA’s annual Board of Directors luncheon and reached more than 1,000 people on social media and other online channels.

In the annual report category, FMPA was recognized for its Fiscal 2020 report, “70-60-50 – Together We Can.” The report summarized the previous year’s activities and provided details on the Agency’s financial performance while introducing FMPA’s 70-60-50 strategic priorities.

The statewide competition recognizes companies and organizations that exhibit and employ comprehensive public relations projects that meet the highest standards of excellence in four components of public relations programming: research, planning, implementation and evaluation. The winners were announced on Tuesday night during an awards ceremony.
