FMPA Wins Statewide Public Relations Award for Major Solar Project

ORLANDO, Fla., August 28, 2020 – The Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) won an Award of Distinction at the 2020 Golden Image Awards, an annual statewide competition sponsored by the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA). The winners were announced last night during a virtual presentation to recognize outstanding public relations programs in Florida.

The competition recognizes companies and organizations that exhibit and employ comprehensive public relations projects that meet the highest standards of excellence in four components of public relations programming: research, planning, execution and evaluation.

In the special events category, FMPA was recognized for a groundbreaking event to commemorate the start of construction on the Florida Municipal Solar Project, one of the nation’s largest municipal-backed solar projects. Eighty stakeholders attended the event, which  generated 122 documented pieces of news coverage and reached more than 13,000 people on social media. The event was organized and executed by FMPA’s communications team and exceeded all goals and objectives.

This is FMPA’s first statewide FPRA award.
