FMPA Honored for Employee Wellness Program

Award recognizes local organizations creating healthy workplaces

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 28, 2013 – Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) was honored for its employee wellness program at a ceremony last Friday.

The Agency was a finalist in the Central Florida’s Healthiest Employers awards program for the small business (two to 99 employees) category. The Healthiest Employer program recognizes organizations that are committed to creating a healthy workplace. The award utilizes an online assessment tool and measures wellness programming in six key categories: 1) culture and leadership commitment, 2) foundational components, 3) strategic planning, 4) communication and marketing, 5) programming and interventions, and 6) reporting and analysis. Finalists were profiled in a special edition of the Orlando Business Journal last Friday.

“When employees feel their best, they’re able to do their best work for the communities we serve,” said FMPA General Manager and CEO Nicholas P. Guarriello. “Being a company of choice for employees is part of our Board of Director’s vision, and our wellness program is an essential part of that.”
