ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 2, 2003 – A 630 MW (nominal) natural gas-fired power plant began commercial operation yesterday at the Stanton Energy Center southeast of Orlando.

The state-of-the-art combined cycle unit, known as Stanton A, is a joint development of Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA), Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) and Southern Company-Florida LLC.
