FMPA Launches Careers Web site

ORLANDO, Fla., April 7, 2009 – The Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) launched a new Web site to share employment opportunities and communicate the value of careers at the Agency. The site address is http://careers.fmpa.com.

“The purpose of this Web site is to list job openings, and more importantly, to share with potential employees what makes FMPA a unique place to work and grow,” said Interim General Manager Nick Guarriello. “In the competition for top talent, applicants want to understand the values and rewards of their employment experience. It’s important for organizations to clearly communicate their strengths, rewards and culture to be a company of choice for employees.”

The site features information about compensation and benefits, company values and the workplace environment. In addition to job listings, the site describes FMPA’s culture, and it highlights the many reasons why employees choose to work for the Agency.

An additional feature of the site is the ability to apply online for FMPA’s open positions. Applicants will be required to answer preliminary job-related questions and upload a copy of their resume to the online system. FMPA will review each application and contact applicants that match the organization’s staffing needs.

The careers site also features job listings from FMPA’s member utilities. Through FMPA’s Joint Action Recruiting Program, job information is posted for open positions in cities across Florida. Applicants can apply for these positions through the contact information provided for each position.

“In a dynamic organization, like FMPA, opportunities emerge that challenge the talents, skills and abilities of our employees. Through this Web site, our goal is to continue recruiting top talent who want the opportunity to make a real difference where they work, in the communities they serve and in themselves,” Guarriello said.
