Ed Liberty is the Utility Director at the City of Lake Worth Beach Electric Utility, a position he’s held since 2017. He also serves as the Treasure of the Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) Board of Directors.

Liberty holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the Newark College of Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has more than 44 years of experience in the utility industry.

Liberty also serves as the President of the Florida Municipal Electric Association. He received the Mark Crisson Leadership and Managerial Excellence Award from the American Public Power Association in 2025. The award recognizes managers who raise their organizations to new levels of excellence, lead by example, and inspire their employees and staff to improve processes, services, and operations.
